The Teacher’s Guide for Environmental Education in Primary Schools was developed and edited by technical working group. The Guide is developed based on revision of the First Phase Coastal Environmental Education textbook which was used as tryout paper for training lead teachers in target areas. Some parts that were excerpted from the tryout paper were revised to reflect the current situation and the examples related to current environmental situation in the country were provided, some lessons were removed and some new sections have been added. The textbook is divided into 4 Parts: Part I explains the General Concept of the Environment, Part II gives details of the Ecosystem, Part III shows some Important Coastal Resources of Cambodia, and the last Part emphasis on Environmental Pollution in Cambodia.
The objectives of the book are provision of information for teachers and relevant specialists who are interested in learning and form basis for teaching of the environmental issues. We hope that the book is useful for: Environmental officials at the central and provincial and municipal levels;Officials from other ministries whose jobs related to environmental education;Directors and teachers of primary schools; and Public in general.
The guide is developed for dissemination in both national language and in English by technical working group. Some figures were obtained from the Coastal Environmental Management Project while others were from relevant projects. The views expressed in the guide book are those of the working group on coastal environmental education. |
